Dr. Wheelock 

Dr. Wheelock  established his own dental practice in 1977.  It originally was only 2 blocks from its current location at 4100 Morningside Avenue.
 
Dr. Wheelock was born and raised in Sioux City graduating from Sioux City Central High School in 1969.  He went on to receive his Bachelors of Science degree from Briar Cliff College in 1973.  He attended dental school at the University of Iowa and besides earning his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 1976, became a devoted Hawkeye fan.  After graduation Dr. Wheelock returned to Sioux City.  He began supervising the construction of his first dental office at 3901 Transit Avenue, while working for Dr. Jerry Smith in South Sioux City, NE, until its completion in February of 1977.  He moved his practice to its current location in 1996.  Dr. Wheelock became business partners with Dr. Brian Bursick in 2004.  Together they have created a highly successful practice focusing on the dental needs and desires of their patients.  They have continued to grow with countless hours of continuing education.  They have invested in their practice with cutting edge technology such as Cerec and lasers.
 
Dr. Wheelock is involved in his community.  He volunteers at the Sioux City Community Health Center where he helps provide dentistry to an underserved population.  He is active in his church, Third Presbyterian, where he serves on several committees.  Dr. Wheelock earned his Eagle Scout Award as a youth and has served as an adult scouter in many capacities including Webelos leader and Scoutmaster.  He currently serves as a Trustee for the Mid American Boy Scout Council.
 
Dr. Wheelock is married to his college sweetheart, Marilyn, and has three adult sons and three daughters in law.  He is the proud grandfather of five incredible grandchildren.  When not working Dr. Wheelock enjoys hunting with his two German Shorthaired Pointers, Sadie and Delle.  He is a passionate fisherman who never passes up an opportunity for "one last cast".  Dr Wheelock received his private license in 2004 and flies a Cessna 172.

Dr. Brian Bursick 

Dr. Brian Bursick is a Sioux City native growing up in the Crescent Park area.  He attended West High School and graduated in 1986.  He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Nebraska Dental School in 1994.  After graduation he practiced briefly in Sergeant Bluff, IA.  In 1997 he joined Dr. Wheelock as an associate. 
 
In 2004 he became a business partner.  Along with Dr. Wheelock, they have built a successful practice that focuses on the dental needs and desires of their patients.  Dr. Bursick has special training in Cad Cam dentistry, Lumineers, Invisalign (clear orthodontics) and Laser Dentistry.
 
Away from the office Dr. Bursick is busy with his family.  He and his wife Kristy have three young sons.  Dr. Bursick is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.  He enjoys his golfing league and never turns down a chance to play another round.  Dr. Bursick is a past President of the Sioux City Dental Society.
 
Dr. Bursick is devoted to delivering quality comprehensive dentistry to the people of his hometown, Sioux City, IA.
Dr Laura Giese

Dr. Laura Giese

Dr. Laura Giese was born and raised in Sioux City , growing up in the Morningside Area.  She attended Heelan High School and graduated in 2000.  She then went on to spend the next 8 years at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, receiving her undergraduate degree in Biology in 2004 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2008.  In July of 2008, she joined Wheelock and Bursick Dentistry as an associate.
 
Dr. Giese is married to her high school sweetheart, Bob Giese.  They have a rat terrior, Daisy, who keeps them busy.  In her spare time, Dr. Giese enjoys sand volleyball, playing guitar, reading and spending time with friends and family.  She is also actively involved in the Sioux City Growth Organization, Girls, Inc. and the Nativity Church choir.
 
Dr. Giese was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society in May and recently had an article published in the Academy of General Dentistry Journal.
